In this blog, we’ll show you some resources to find COVID-19 testing in your area – whether you need free testing, rapid testing, at home tests, or are simply looking for the closest and most available testing resource – this list has you covered.
If you think you may have been exposed to COVID, first of all, YIKES! Second, please visit a testing site to get tested. As we know COVID-19 is a rapid spreading disease characterized by flu-like symptoms such as fever and cough, capable of progressing to severe symptoms and in some cases even death. It is especially threatening to older individuals and those with underlying health conditions. In order to protect our communities and stop the spread of COVID, it is important to get tested if symptoms arise – or if you think there’s a chance you’ve been exposed. A few other symptoms to look out for include shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, and fatigue or body weakness. So, if you can’t taste those hot wings, please go get tested. With a wide range of testing becoming readily available, it is becoming increasingly easy to be checked for COVID-19. This blog will provide you with access to find COVID-19 Tests Near You.
Testing Labs
One of the easiest ways to get a COVID test is by finding a lab in your area. We have partnered with several locations locally, but if you live outside of Pittsburgh or need COVID testing elsewhere, I have provided you with some resources as well. Two types of COVID tests currently on the market are viral tests such as PCR test, which tell you if the infection is currently in your body, and antibody test which determine if you have been previously infected. Most labs offer both PCR and antibody testing. If you’d like to learn more about the difference between these tests – read our blog or watch this video.
Our Offerings
At SDxLabs, we offer PCR viral tests with next day results so you can quickly learn if you or someone you love, have been infected by COVID-19.
To find COVID-19 tests near you, visit our website for a list of our partner testing locations in the greater Pittsburgh area. In most cases tests are offered with no out-of-pocket cost. We will bill Medicare, Medicaid, or 3rd party insurance for those with no insurance.
Get connected: Solv
Solv is a tool designed to help connect people with urgent care facilities near them. COVID testing has been added to their list of services they have to offer to the public. The Solv app can be downloaded to your smartphone or tablet as a quick tool to find COVID-19 testing near you. They also have a robust website that offers much of the same functionality the app does. Solv helps individuals locate services near them – in this case, they’ve located COVID-19 testing facilities in cities across the country and made it easy to search and book appointments. Each site will have different criteria to determine which test is appropriate based on an individual’s symptoms, risk factors, and overall test availability. Health departments maintain testing location lists on a state-by-state basis. So, depending on what state you live in, there is a testing site locator for you. You can use Solv’s state-by-state COVID testing site lists or their search tool – both are shown to the right.
Simply click on your State to get started! Get access to COVID testing in your area and book a same day appointment at participating locations using Solv. Users recommend downloading the app for fingertip access to the COVID testing sites locator.
